In 2001, Jeremy Washburn and Mike Washburn started looking for investment properties. Jeremy had a real estate license, and Mike had a contractor’s license. Why not hire themselves and start investing in real estate?
A short time later, they went to the county courthouse and bought a foreclosure at a public auction. They paid for the property within 24 hours, as required by law, and they had their first investment property. They had never been in the house before. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into. It was truly a fixer-upper. Every room of the home was in shambles.
But after a few months for painting and remodeling including new roofing, new cabinets, new carpets, new doors, new stairs, new bathrooms, new bedrooms, new closets, new light fixtures, new garages, new landscaping, new windows, and a new life, they sold their first foreclosure.
And they made a few thousand dollars. Not a great return on investment, but it was a huge learning experience. They learned not only how to rehab a house, but they also learned what sells houses and what people like. They know what it takes to make a profit on an investment.
They have bought and successfully rehabilitated and sold millions of dollars in foreclosures in nearly every city of Utah County and Salt Lake County. They have been through thousands of foreclosure notices and have bought a good share of them at auction. Every real estate project they have acquired has required a little TLC. Neighbors love WWW Properties as neighborhoods have been cleaned of eye sores and improved.
Jeremy and Mike started Washburn Real Estate in 2005 and have employed over 20 real estate agents. While they still specialize in foreclosures, they have also represented New Construction projects, buyers, sellers, residential properties, multi-family properties, land developments, commercial real estate and nearly every aspect of real estate. Whether first-time home buyers or seasoned investors, city condos or country farm lands, Washburn Real Estate has been there, and done that!
